SAILING

Sailing is popular at both camps.  Little Wohelo uses Sprite sailboats launched off the beach in the protected waters.   The boats will fit campers and a counselor or can be sailed by campers alone.   Sailing is incorporated into the awards system for all campers to enjoy.

Sebago Wohelo has over a dozen MIT tech dingies (shown here) that are excellent for learning to sail as well as advancing sailing skills.  We launch directly from a protected deep water cove.   Girls at Sebago Wohelo may choose to work for their Crew, Ordinary or Able Seaman Award as well as participate in the racing program.

Sebago Wohelo Able Class - every day from 3:00-4:30

Racing Class from 4:30-6:00 to practice skills and prepare for one of our 5 regattas or 2 weekly racing events.

We welcome everyone and crewing for one of our racers is a great way to learn skills.

Our 26 foot Scow is great for teaching skills to our advanced sailors on a bigger boat.

And it's a lot of fun for the rest of us too!

A Laser 2 and 16' Hobie Cat provide more diversity and teaching options.

BOAT RIDES IN THE ZIP

Our 1956 Chris Craft Continental,  the "ZIP", is one of the few pieces of equipment shared between the camps.  It holds lots of campers both big and small.

CANOEING

Summer Camp is the perfect place to learn to canoe.  A skill you will have for the rest of your life.

Sebago Wohelo canoeing awards are combined with the swimming awards.

The equipment at Little Wohelo is appropriately sized for our campers.

Paddling skills, boat care and safety as well as rescue skills are all part of our curriculum.

Sebago Wohelo has a couple canoe trips up the lake and to our Crooked River campsite.

Morning crew practice before breakfast all summer leads to great performances at Watersports Day at the end of camp.

Sometimes we let the Migis do the hard work.

Our ever growing fleets of Red kayaks is popular at both camps for learning and just cruising around.

Rowing is taught at the rowing beach inside of Blueberry Island at Little Wohelo
