12-21-2007 - Winter Solstice Sunset - 4:03 pm The farthest South the sun will set.   Southwest     1-2-2008     1-3-2008     1-6-2008     1-8-2008     1-9-2008     1-15-2008     1-16-2008  4:25 pm     1-20-2008 No ice on the lake but it is COLD.     When possible we'll get full moon setting photos also.   Here is January 22nd - 6:31am.  The lights at right are Shawnee Peak Ski area, so we don't see them in the summer, and I'm not sure why they were on in the morning (and 5 degrees out).  This is Northwest, the direction of Mount Washington.     January 22nd     January 23rd - 4:36pm - Sunset - 4:40     January 24th     January 25th     January 30th - a quiet morning, notice the ice is has formed out to Rookies Island     Then 20 mph winds turned it into icy waves, very noisy.     Still January 30th - 4:44 pm - By sunset the lake was completely open again except for the coves.     February 4th  Lots of birds enjoying the only open water around.     February 5th, Morning Snow                The ice came in this week Left - February 6th -Loon at thin ice line close to shore Right - February 12 - Solid Ice to Rookies     February 11th     February 12th   February 14th - 5:04pm  Compare time and location to top photo.     February 15th     Full Moon - February 21st - 6:10am - Moonset seems to move south at about the same rate the sunset moves north.  We'll see if they ever meet.     February 20th     February 21st, 24th and 25th - at 5:12, 5:16 and 5:17 pm Stable weather like this ended today, 2/26, it's snowing hard now.      February 25th - morning - 4 days after full moon, getting smaller/waning (C for Cautious).      Snow on Rookies on the 27th     March 5th     March 6th  - the sun is moving out of our frame.  We're starting another page at a new location.  Sunsets Page 2
