A mild winter makes summer seem even closer!
Here is some of what we have been up to over the past months.
Watching sunsets in the evening (that is a tiny skim of ice covering part of the lake- January 22nd) and moonsets and sunrise hitting Mt. Washington in the morning.
Parent Folders were sent this week. Cool new folder, original map artwork by Deb Hewson Merrill.
We still have room in full and half sessions at Little and Sebago Wohelo for this summer as well as space in the newly added second Peep Week, Monday, July 23- Sunday, July 29. We are also looking for one more nurse, a cook at Little Wohelo and a few more counselors at each camp.
We hope you’ll keep us in mind if you know potential Woheloites!
The 2012 Parent Page has started – http://www.wohelo.com/2012-parent-page/. As of now it just has links to the forms from the Parent Folder.
That page and the Bulletin Board will have any updated information through the spring and summer, including links like this one about sending your child to camp for the first time – http://www.laduenews.com/living/kids-parenting/your-child-s-first-sleep-away/article_19042a0e-63eb-11e1-8868-0019bb30f31a.html
Rick has been around all Winter. One of his projects was making the Little Wohelo benches super shiny!
New website design released this month thanks to Craig (a.k.a. Heidi’s husband). Here he is working out some of the kinks in the system while on vacation in Mexico last month.
Back up north Sebago Lake never froze, which means Paddleboarding all winter.
Suntanning on Sebago on March 13th, and it’s supposed to get warmer this weekend! Penny still thinks the water is too cold to swim, but it should be a warm year for the lake this summer.
Davis got newspaper coverage for some volunteer work that he and Louise do in Arizona. We didn’t even know he was a member of this American Athletic Research Program (AARP?)
Cool links –
Videos of Wohelo Chorus 2012!! Thanks to Isabel and Emily for getting these videos to us of some of the wonderful singing this past summer. We are going to miss Emily this summer 🙁 But we are looking forward to Maggie continuing the amazing standards they set last year (and we’ll work on some recording equipment).
